Distance Learning Programme

Each year, nabim, the trade association for the UK flour milling industry, runs seven modular courses to provide millers with an essential understanding and underpinning knowledge of the milling industry. The courses are studied by hundreds of students around the world and lead to the nabim Advanced Certificate in Flour Milling.

The modules may be taken in any order or combination, so providing a flexible training package.

For each module, students are allocated an individual tutor, to whom they submit four pieces of work during the course year; the tutors return this work marked and with further guidance. The tutors are all experienced in the operation and management of flour mills, providing students with expert assistance in their training.

We have prepared a handy checklist and have collated some testimonials for you to look over. Also, you can see more information about enrolments here.

Our 2020 Course Guide is now available to download, as are the enrolment forms.  We re-open for enrolment on 1 June; please make sure you use the correct form.

In 2020, we hope that many companies and students will be able to meet our usual deadline for enrolment of 21 August.  However, we recognise that the postponement of our 2020 examinations to the second half of September will mean that some will wish to hear this year's results before making decisions.  We will therefore, this year only, accept enrolments from 2019-20 students up until 30 November, and tutors will treat coursework submitted late with flexibility and understanding.  The 2021 examinations will be scheduled, as usual, for the first half of May.
