Renewal energy costs: exemption for some mills

  |

For a number of years, nabim has been making the case to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial (BEIS) that the milling sector should be added to the list of businesses eligible for an exemption from some of the cost of renewable energy schemes. BEIS officials have confirmed that Ministers approved the addition of mills to this list, although the amending legislation is still making its way through Parliament.

It is looking hopeful that the amendment will be approved and, for eligible mills, the exemption could apply from April 2020. nabim will hold a workshop in early January to cover what preparations mills need to make to take advantage of this. If relevant for your business and if you have not already done so, please contact JoeBrennan@nabim.org.uk for further details.
